Stonemasonry

I have worked as a heritage stone mason across the UK for over 10 years with experience in banker work, fixing, restoration and conservation. I have experience in setting out, templating, carving complex architectural pieces, indents, mortar repairs, fixing,  walling, repointing, grouting as well as in associated skills around stonemasonry including lime rendering, plastering, gilding, stone cleaning, srone consolidation, brickwork and more. I have worked on buildings including Southwark Cathedral, Elizabeth Tower- Houses of Parliament, Queens Tower-Imperial College, Nikortsminda Cathedral - Georgia, Royal Botanic Cottage - Edinburgh  amongst others.

Heritage Stonemason

. I trained as a stonemason straight out of school and starting my career with the Prince’s Foundation Young Heritage Apprenticeship which  gave me a strong grounding in the heritage world; in the techniques and materials essential to preserving our historic built environment, both within stonemasonry as well as in broader craft context. I keep a keen eye on the latest practices and conversations within the conservation and restoration world – I am always keen to see the correct practices followed and distressed when the wrong materials and techniques are used.
I really enjoy working directly on buildings working as part of a team , the steady, reliable, physical  work  that working as a stonemason in  gives.
